Emile P. Oestriecher III
1938-2024
Founder, Partner EMERITUS
Emile, (who was often referred to as “Mr. O”), earned a BS degree in Accounting from Louisiana State University (LSU) in 1961. After serving two years of active duty as a U. S. Army Commissioned Officer, he returned to his hometown of Alexandria, Louisiana and began his accounting career. In 1971 Emile established his own public accounting firm which evolved over the years from a solo practice to the present Oestriecher & Company, CPAs. Today, Oestriecher & Company, CPAs is one of the leading accounting firms serving Central Louisiana, where the commitment to integrity, unwavering honesty, and impeccable ethics still hold fast.
In addition to being founder of Oestriecher & Company, CPAs, Emile was a Wealth Management Advisor for over twenty years, serving clients through Oestriecher Financial Management Services. He held Series 6, 7 and 66 securities licenses and a Louisiana Life, Health and Accident insurance license. More information about Oestriecher Financial Management Services can be found at O-FMS.com.
Throughout his 50+ year professional, career he steadfastly believed in contributing to the accounting profession and educating students and peers. His service to the accounting profession included decades of multiple leadership positions on a national, state and local level to both the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and the Society of Louisiana of Certified Public Accountants. As he enjoyed teaching, Mr. O was an Adjunct Associate Professor teaching accounting courses at Louisiana State University at Alexandria, as well as a peer instructor teaching continuing education courses.
One of his greatest legacies was his extensive and lifelong volunteer services. To Mr. O, there was no greater service than the commitment of giving back to one’s community. Evident by his 50-year dedication to civic, business and charitable organizations, he took great pride in being a dedicated citizen in his community. Perhaps the best way to reflect Mr. O’s outstanding dedication to his community was when the Mayor of Alexandria proclaimed October 7, 2000, Emile Oestriecher Day in honor of his service to the community. Please visit community involvement and recognition for more of his dedicated community service.
Oriented to family in both his personal and professional life, he was known for instilling an atmosphere of family with his employees at Oestriecher & Company. He and his wife Audrey, married since 1961, were the parents of four children as well as proud grandparents and great-grandparents
