Emile, (often referred to as “Mr. O”), earned a BS degree in Accounting from Louisiana State University (LSU) in 1961. After serving two years of active duty as a U. S. Army Commissioned Officer, he returned to his home town of Alexandria, Louisiana and began his accounting career. In 1971 Emile established his own public accounting firm which evolved over the years from a solo practice to the present Oestriecher & Company, CPAs. Today, Oestriecher & Company, CPAs is one of the leading accounting firms serving Central Louisiana, where the commitment to integrity, unwavering honesty, and impeccable ethics still hold fast.

In addition to being founder of Oestriecher & Company, CPAs, Emile expanded his services and expertise and has been a Wealth Management Advisor for over twenty years, serving clients through Oestriecher Financial Management Services. He holds Series 6, 7 and 66 securities licenses and a Louisiana Life, Health and Accident insurance license. Throughout his professional career, which spans 50+ years, he has always steadfastly believed in contributing to the accounting profession and educating students and peers. His service to the accounting profession includes decades of multitude leadership positions on a national, state and local level to both the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and the Society of Louisiana of Certified Public Accountants. Enjoying teaching, Mr. O was an Adjunct Associate Professor teaching accounting courses at Louisiana State University at Alexandria, as well as a peer instructor teaching continuing education courses.

Well known for his many volunteer services, to Mr. O, there is no greater service than the commitment of giving back to one’s community. Evident by his 50-year dedication to civic, business and charitable organizations, he takes great pride in being a dedicated citizen in his community. Perhaps the best way to reflect Mr. O’s outstanding dedication to his community was recognized when the Mayor of Alexandria proclaimed October 7, 2000, Emile Oestriecher Day in honor of his service to the community. Oriented to family in both his personal and professional life where he instills an atmosphere of family with his employees, he and his wife Audrey, married since 1961, are the parents of four children as well as proud grandparents and great-grandparents.

Kurt G. Oestriecher, CPA

Kurt, a national Speaker, Facilitator, and Author joined the firm in 1986 upon graduating Cum Laude from the University of Louisiana Monroe. Kurt is partner in charge of accounting and auditing and has more than 30 years of experience in public accounting. His dedication to professional ethics and integrity has led him to become the current Chairperson of the Professional Ethics Committee of the Society of Louisiana CPAs. More importantly to our current times, Kurt was awarded the 2020 Special Recognition Award for his leadership in developing CPE courses for the PPP Loan Program and other COVID related relief—further exemplifying his dedication to clients and industry peers as he provides the most up-to-date accounting solutions and education for all.

Distinguishing himself as a national speaker, Kurt has presented courses in 41 different states, bringing his expert knowledge to peers in the accounting industry nationwide. Honing his skills as an instructor, he has been recognized 12 times as an AICPA Outstanding CPE Instructor, and was named LCPA Outstanding CPE Instructor four times. He is co-author of the leading selling Annual Update for Accountants and Auditors for the AICPA and numerous other publications.

Dedicated not only to educating within his professional organizations, Kurt also educated collegians as an adjunct Instructor of Accounting at two Louisiana Universities. Remaining vigilant to helping individual and business clients navigate the complexities of tax planning in an ever-changing environment, Kurt dedicates himself to continual education to stay abreast of accounting issues. As a champion for small business owners, he helps business owners succeed by helping them focus on their goals while he focuses on their financials.

With a focus on community service, Kurt has been involved at the Board of Directors level for multiple civic and nonprofit organizations spanning thirty-two years of service to the community.

Kurt and his wife Sandy have been married over 30 years and are the parents of two children. Kurt is an Eagle Scout, and always enjoyed competitive sports. He played for many years in area basketball, softball, and flag football leagues after competing in swimming at the University of Louisiana Monroe. He now enjoys playing golf and tailgating with his wife in his spare time.
